The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is the largest regulatory system in the body. Having a highly functional Endocannabinoid System is important for health and wellbeing in humans as well as in Pets and other animals.
Scientists have realized that the Endocannabinoid system (ECS) fine tunes nearly all of the vital
organs. The ECS balances every function including sleep, appetite, pain, inflammation, memory,
mood, reproduction and much more. One could compare the ECS system to a conductor of an
orchestra who creates a perfect symphony by leading the orchestra so that no instrument is drowned
out by another. The ECS creates a perfect symphony in the body and the soul!
A simple explanation of the ECS is that it sustains homeostasis (balance) in the different systems in
the body. This enables us to feel well and vibrant – which we should always strive for. We all know
about the immune system but how many know about the Endocannabinoid system that actually
governs the immune system.
Humans are not alone in having an ECS system.
As human beings we are not alone in having an ECS system. The Endocannabinoid system is present in all animals with vertabrates. Scientists have even found cannabinoid receptors in sea cucumbers that do not have a spine. This could mean a development process that goes back six hundred million years. Mammals, birds, fish and reptiles all have an Endocannabinoid system. There is much experience in using cannabinoider for horses, dogs and cats.Horses become calmer. Older horses seen rejuvenated and they heal from eksema and laminitis. Dogs receive help with epilepsy, aggressive behaviour, anxiety and fear as well as different types of eczema. Cats receive help with fear and anxiety and also with aggressive behaviour and symptoms of old age. Our pets benefit from having an active ECS.
What is hemp?
Hemp is an agricultural product that we have grown for 10,000 years for its fiber, seeds and, more recently, its healthy properties.

What is CBD?
Most people who are aware of the endocannabinoid system know that cannabinoids such as cannabidiol (CBD) and Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) activate their receptors. Currently there are more than one hundred (100) other cannabinoider that have the effect on ECS.
Cannabinoider are fat soluble but your body is mostly composed of water. Methods of Extraction
There are several methods that can be used in extracting the cannabinoider from the hemp plant. The most common method is a CO2 extraction that is done with coldioxide under high pressure. The advantage of extraction with CO2 is that one can produce large quantities with little effort. One disadvantage is that the oil contains mostley only cannabinoider. It does not contain terpenes or other valuable substances from the plant.
Another method is by extraction using a solvent – preferably alcohol. If you decide to try an extract manufactured with alcohol it is important that you purchase a tincture and not an oil from alcohol extraction. When using an extraction method with alcohol, Butan or other solvents one must first heat the mixture in order to remove the solvents. Then you should place the extracted material in a vacuum oven. This results in a loss of terpenes and other valuable substances.
My favorite method is natural oil extraction where one extracts the Cannabinoids directly in oil.
The first two methods produce a concentrate which is then blended in a carrier oil. The advantage of extracting directly in oil is that the oil contains all of the molycules in the plant as well as cannabinoider, terpens and other beneficial s substances that are present in hemp. The only disadvantage is that this method is time consuming and it involves more work.
Percent Content in CBD
The percent of CBD in the produkt is not significant. One does not eat percent but one does eat milligrams of something. The only real advantage of an CBD product with a high percent is that you do not need to take so much. The advantage of an CBD product containing a lower percentage of CBD is that it is easier for you to consume the exact amount of the product that is just right for your pets health.
“Less is more” is relevant for 90% of those who use CBD.
The most important factor when purchasing a CBD products is buying from a serious producer who cares more about the quality of his product that huge profits.
Summary: Always purchase an oil-extracted CBD oil with a low percentage of CBD from a reliable company.
